Typhus is caused by bacteria called Salmonella typhi. These bacteria have evolved rapidly in the dirty places. The spread of bacteria is aided by bacteria carrying insects such as flies or other insects. This bacteria can exist in the food or drink and will get into the body of people who consume them. That causes a person can be exposed to typhoid.
